A Milestone Anniversary
On June 11-12, 2026, we proudly celebrated the 15th Year Anniversary Edition of ARCTIC15 in Helsinki. The milestone event brought together over 3,250 visitors from more than 60 countries, proving that after 15 years, our signature data-driven matchmaking and focus on real deals remain the ultimate launchpad for the region’s brightest innovations.
Where It All Began
The Story of NORDEEP
As the Nordic startup ecosystem matured, we noticed a critical market gap. The world was facing massive global challenges—climate change, energy crises, industrial bottlenecks—and the solutions were trapped inside university research labs and academic institutions.
While general tech startups could launch an app overnight, deep tech startups (built on true scientific discoveries, hardware breakthroughs, and complex engineering) were struggling. They faced unique hurdles: longer commercialization cycles, immense capital requirements, and a desperate need for corporate pilot partners.
In 2022, ArcticStartup Events launched NORDEEP (Nordic Deep Tech Business Summit) at Dipoli (Aalto University) in Espoo, Finland—the undisputed “City of Deep Tech.”
NORDEEP was born not as a scientific symposium, but as Northern Europe’s first and only deep tech conference with an exclusive business focus. We brought international funding, corporate clients, regulatory experts, and academic spinouts under one roof to answer a single question: How do we get breakthrough science to market faster?
Scaling Across the Ecosystem
NORDEEP Sweden
Deep tech is inherently global and cross-border. Recognizing that the Nordic region is a collective powerhouse of industrial heritage, deep science, and world-class research, NORDEEP quickly expanded its footprint.
In May 2024, we took the summit across the Baltic Sea, launching NORDEEP Stockholm at Södra Teatern in Sweden.
By activating the Swedish deep tech ecosystem—partnering with prominent venture allocators, heavy-industry leaders, and frontier hardware pioneers—we bridged the gap between Swedish and Finnish innovation hubs. This cross-border expansion solidified NORDEEP as the definitive platform for the entire New Nordic deep tech community.

The 5th Anniversary and Beyond
Now entering its 5th Anniversary Edition, NORDEEP has evolved from a groundbreaking debut event into a permanent, highly curated event engine. Driven by ArcticStartup Events’ signature matchmaking methodology, we continue to design practical environments like the Nordeep 5 x 5 Deep Tech Demos, Challenge Arena, Corporate Problem Rooms, and the Discovery Zone to turn deep tech interest into immediate, commercial next steps.
