Mia Brzakovic

Mia is an Associate at Matterwave Ventures, a deeptech investor backing founders across European industrial sovereignty.

Working at the intersection of deep science and commercial application, Mia brings experience spanning venture investment, technology transfer, and company building: from her earlier roles as co-founder and CEO of FikiLabs, developing carbon-negative, algae-based alternatives to petroleum-based plastics, and as a Project Manager at EIT Health, managing projects and spinouts with clinics, corporates, and research institutions, to an Investor at Atlantic Bridge, focusing on growth-stage deep tech investments across Europe and the US.

She holds First Class Honours Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with extensive research in biomechanics, bioelectronics and computer vision.
